A careful status statement: The Labs are designed toward WCAG 2.2 Level AA and data minimization. No claim of formal WCAG certification, FERPA compliance certification, COPPA safe-harbor status, or district approval is made. Districts should review the features they plan to use—especially Word Lab’s optional signed-in teacher tools—against local policy and contract requirements.
Recommended review path

Start small and preserve the lowest-data option.

1. Review

Confirm instructional fit, allowed data elements, accessibility needs, and whether a contract or DPA is required.

2. Pilot

Use anonymous practice first with a small group, school devices, and no confidential information.

3. Decide

Document approved features, staff responsibilities, shared-device procedures, and any limits on signed-in tools.
